Respite Care

This unit will cater for older people who are cared for at their own homes by family or domiciliary care workers. This category of residents  are admitted into the care home for a short period of time (from a couple  of days  to one month maximum) to enable their domiciliary care worker have a break, attend one-off events (weddings, burials, etc.) or go on holiday.

Others in this unit would be older people admitted from hospitals, having recovered enough to leave hospital but not well enough to return home. The respite unit will provide intermediate care for them to fully regain their abilities in order to return to independent / semi-independent living in their own homes. While in the respite unit, these will be attended to by physiotherapist, Occupational therapist, Dietician, etc.
